THE COMMUNITY

As part of its commitment to community service and its dedication to ongoing educational pursuits, the BENEDICT FOUNDATION is an innovator in sponsoring workshops, seminars, and other informational opportunities in diverse, cutting edge topics such as Nonprofit Board Governance, Planned Philanthropy and Shared Giving.

Additionally, the Board of Directors of the Benedict Foundation in 2008 approved the formation of a Community Enrichment Initiatives (CEI's) program designed to provide enrichment opportunities specifically for Brunswick County NC and surrounding areas. These include art and cultural events, an Art Study Group, and a continuation of the Board Governance Semiar Series. All events are scheduled to take place at the Benedict Foundation Center at 1013 E. Moore St.,
Southport, NC.

Education Chair Dr. Ernest Phelps of Goldsboro, NC and Mansfield. MA and committee members Sue Hanshaw
of Huntington, WV and D. C. Barbot of Florence, SC will continue to administer the separate Frederick C. Graham Educational Awards in the fields of foreign languages and intercultural communication. For more information on these educational awards, click here.
